The death toll from a series of terror attacks in Paris is staggering. Terrorists struck in several locations in the City of Light tonight, with at least two reported suicide bombings, a shooting at a restaurant, another shooting at a shopping mall and a hostage situation at a concert hall.

The death toll had hovered around 60 for hours, but French media are now reporting that around 100 people are dead in just the concert hall. The hostages there had gathered to watch the California band Eagles of Death Metal.

Hours after the attacks began, President Francois Holland made a televised statement and declared a state of emergency for the entire country. He added that France's borders would be closed to prevent any terrorists from escaping.

President Obama denounced the attacks from the White House. He called them an "outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians." He added that the U.S. is prepared to offer whatever assistance France needs to bring the terrorists to justice.

Despite the fact that scores of innocent bystanders were killed in the Paris attack, supporters of ISIS are taking to social media to praise the terrorists. Using the hashtag "Paris Burns," dozens of tweets have gone out gloating about the attack. There are reports that a suspect has been taken into custody and he told French police that he is a Syrian and told them that he is - in his words - "from ISIS."
