New Bedford Police are investigating another shooting in the South End.

It happened Sunday night before 8 p.m. in the area of Ruth Street and Roosevelt Street, according to police spokesman Lt. Nathaniel Rodriguez. He said police responded and discovered evidence of shots fired.

Shortly thereafter, St. Luke's Hospital reported that a shooting victim had arrived and was being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg, Rodriguez said. The hospital said the wound did not appear to be life-threatening.

New Bedford police are actively investigating the incident.
