21 Dogs Rescued From New Bedford Home Are Ready for Adoption
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — New Bedford Animal Control rescued 21 dogs from a home in early July, and now the dogs are looking for their new forever homes.
The animals had been living in unsanitary and dangerous conditions. Some dogs lived in cages in the attic, where temperatures had entered triple digits when they were discovered.
The investigation prompted 39 animal cruelty charges against the homeowner.
The rescued dogs now have a second chance at the life they deserve.
Since the dogs were removed from the home on July 8, they were transferred to Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River. Today, they are officially available for adoption.
According to the shelter, you must have an approved application before you can meet the dogs. The shelter is providing strict regulations to protect the dogs and ensure they don't end up in another unstable and awful situation.

"You must own your own home or live in a home owned by a family member, no cats unless otherwise noted, and all kids must be 12+. Fenced in yards are also highly preferred as well," the animal shelter wrote in social media post.
The shelter also noted that the dogs have chronic issues such as ear and skin infections.
Animals that have been abused or have experienced neglect undergo a lot of trauma. Training these dogs and showing them what a loving home can be like will take patience.
