Onset Woman Arrested, Charged with Trafficking Fentanyl

WAREHAM — An Onset woman was arrested Sunday after she was found in possession of suspected fentanyl in the parking lot of a retail store.

On Sunday, October 20 at 12:51 p.m., Officer Charles Pillsbury responded to Tractor Supply on Cranberry Highway for a report of a suspicious person in the parking lot. Police say Officer Pillsbury and a detective located more than 12 grams of suspected fentanyl in the possession of the individual.

Police arrested the woman, 34-year-old Mariann Downey of Onset. In addition to the suspected fentanyl, a quantity of cash was also confiscated.

Downey is charged with trafficking in fentanyl over 10 grams.
