Just when you thought the "No Kings" movement had run its course, it's back with a vengeance. Organizers say as many as 3,000 "No Kings" protests are planned across the fruited plains on Saturday, March 28, 2026, including as many as 160 here in Massachusetts.

What Is the ‘No Kings’ Movement?

Mass 50501, the apparent organizer of Massachusetts "No Kings" events, posted a message on its website.

"We empower the people of Massachusetts in the fight against tyranny in America, by fostering community, spreading truth, answering calls for aid, petitioning our elected officials, and organizing non-partisan, non-violent resistance efforts across the state," it reads. "The foundations of our democracy are under attack by an authoritarian movement that wants to eliminate people's basic human rights," says the group.

Sounds pretty serious, no?

I wonder if my "basic human rights" would be respected if I showed up at a "No Kings" rally wearing, say, a MAGA hat? Ya think?

Boston.com compiled a list of many of the rally locations for Saturday's events.

Boston Common Expected to Host Largest "No Kings" Rally

The main event appears to be a "No Kings" rally on Boston Common, featuring a performance by Dropkick Murphys. Nothing says "I'm pissed" quite like a romp in the Common with Dropkick Murphys.

In a statement, Mass 50501 spokesperson Rebecca Winter said, "On March 28, 'we the people' are 'we the powerful.' We will show our power, build our power, and use our power to fight for a democracy that works for everyone."

Catchy, but will it fit on a bumper sticker?

Protesters crowd into streets, parks and plazas at anti-Trump 'No Kings' demonstrations

Demonstrators gathered in parks and plazas across the U.S. to protest against President Donald Trump.

The “No Kings” rallies were organized in nearly 2,000 locations nationwide, including cities, towns, and community spaces.

These protests followed recent unrest over federal immigration raids and Trump’s deployment of the National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles, where tensions escalated with protesters blocking a freeway and setting vehicles on fire.
