
Fatal Crashes in Seekonk and New Bedford Kill Two, Including Teen
A 37-year-old man and an 18-year-old girl were killed in separate vehicle crashes Sunday in New Bedford and Seekonk, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced.
Motorcyclist Killed in New Bedford Route 18 Crash
On August 3 at about 2:30 a.m., New Bedford Police responded to 911 calls about a single motorcycle crash on Route 18 in the area of Union Street.
Police arrived to find a 37-year-old man in the left lane between Union Street and Elm Street, who was receiving CPR from a civilian. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The D.A.’s Office said his motorcycle was found a short distance away, and it appears he lost control of the bike while driving it. The D.A.’s Office said the crash does not appear suspicious but it remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police assigned to that office and New Bedford Police.

Crash in Seekonk Kills Providence Teen
At about 11 p.m. on August 3, Massachusetts State Police received a 911 call about a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 195 westbound in Seekonk.
Massachusetts State Police, Seekonk EMS and Rehoboth EMS responded to the scene near Mile Marker 1. There, they found a female on the roadway with fatal injuries. She was identified as Abriana Herrera Perez, 18, of Providence.
Police located the three vehicles involved in the crash. A 2012 black Mazda 3 was in the right travel lane, a red 2003 Toyota Tacoma was upside down on the median and a blue 2007 Yamaha XVS motorcycle was found in the breakdown lane.
Multiple Victims Transported With Injuries
The 33-year-old man who had been operating the motorcycle was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries. The 69-year-old woman that had been driving the Tacoma was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries.
Herrera Perez had been an occupant of the Mazda. The three other occupants of the vehicle – an 18-year-old girl, a 17-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, were all transported to Rhode Island Hospital for minor injuries.
The D.A.’s Office said the investigation into that crash is active and ongoing.
