A man arrested Sunday morning in connection with a homicide investigation in New Bedford, is arraigned Monday in District Court.

Twenty two year old Michael Sousa was ordered held without bail and had his case continued to September 1st.  He was charged with obstruction of justice for misleading officers who were investigating the shooting death of 24 year old Jeffrey Sylvia Jr.

Sylvia was found early Sunday at the intersection of Acushnet Avenue and Blackmer Street.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The District Attorney's Office says Sousa was held without bail because of several outstanding cases in District Court.  Bail was set at $7,500 on the obstruction charge.
