DA: Middleboro Fatal Stabbing Result of Argument Over Steak Dinner
The Middleboro man charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed his mother’s boyfriend Saturday night is being held without bail and more details have emerged as to the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing.
According to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz, Andrew Horsman, 41, pleaded not guilty to one count of murder at his arraignment today in Wareham District Court. He is accused of the murder of Paul Pomerleau, 66, who had been in a long-term relationship with Horsman’s mother.
The D.A.’s Office said that according to witness reports, an argument over a steak dinner occurred at the residence at 19 Fairview Street in Middleboro Saturday night. It is alleged that Horsman stabbed Pomerleau with a steak knife during the argument.

Middleboro Police received multiple 911 calls on June 28 at about 8:03 p.m. reporting a fight and a man stabbed at the residence. They arrived to find Pomerleau suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to Morton Hospital in Taunton, where he was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries at 8:52 p.m.
Witness interviews led police to identify Horsman as the suspect. Police said he was taken into custody in close proximity to the residence without incident.

According to Cruz, it was determined that Pomerleau had been stabbed 17 times with a steak knife located near his body. He said Horsman allegedly then poured lighter fluid on Pomerleau's body following the stabbing.
Horsman is next scheduled to appear in court on July 28.
