Amazon is pulling the plug on a plan to locate on Long Island, New York because of opposition from some pretty stupid politicians. U.S. Senator Liz Warren (D-Mass.) is celebrating.

Amazon has become the new Walmart because it has the audacity to turn a profit. Granted, Amazon could pay more in taxes, but that's up to Congress to change the tax laws.

The Amazon plan would have added 25,000 new jobs and $27 billion annually to the New York economy, but that's not enough for fools like Warren and the Empire State's most famous citizen this month, Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Seventy percent of residents polled supported the plan.

AOC and some local politicians were opposed to the idea of Amazon getting a tax break to locate on Long Island. Communities from across the country competed for Amazon and offered the same tax breaks in order to be able to provide 25,000 new jobs for their citizens. Common sense, no?

Even left-wingnut Governor Andrew Cuomo recognized the value of the Amazon deal and is mighty P.O.'d by what has happened.

People like Warren and AOC are disgusting in that they rage against the machine while pretending to be for the little people. So what if your kid may have just missed an opportunity for a good job, and your community gets screwed out of substantial tax revenue? They beat Amazon and then retreat to their Cambridge mansions and luxury D.C. digs.

For Warren, it's not enough just to make Massachusetts residents miserable; she has to make New Yorkers miserable, too. Warren should just shut her mouth and mind her own business. Someone should remind her that New Bedford has a fishing industry that could use her help.
