The man held in connection with the murder of a Fairhaven woman last month has been indicted by a Grand Jury.

The Bristol County D-A's office says 36-year-old Joshua Silva of New Bedford is now formally charged with the murder of 69-year-old Joyce Howland on October 14th.

Silva is also charged with armed robbery after he allegedly entered Ms. Howland's Hamlet Street home, slit her throat and stole her jewelry. At the time, Silva was installing insulation at Howland's home.

Silva has been held without bail since his arraignment in New Bedford District Court on October 30th, and now awaits arraignment in Superior Court in Fall River. An exact date has not been set.
