BROCKTON — Police and prosecutors are asking for the public's help in the search for the driver of a white SUV that was involved in a fatal hit and run crash in Brockton on Monday night.

The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office says the vehicle is believed to have fatally struck a pedestrian before fleeing the scene.

The male victim has not yet been identified, pending notification of his next of kin.

According to the D.A.'s office, the crash took place near 108 Forest Ave. at around 10 p.m. Monday.

First responders arrived to find to find the victim suffering from serious injuries.

He was medflighted to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The D.A.'s office has published images of a white SUV believed to be involved in the crash from surveillance video footage of the scene.

The vehicle likely sustained damage to the front driver's side, according to the office.

Anyone with any information on the vehicle or driver is asked to contact police.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
