Neal's Night Out went back to one of my favorite restaurants, Ella's Wood Burning Restaurant in Wareham. When asked to go to Ella's for dinner I never say no, because I know that I am alway's going to get a great meal and this night surpassed that! Ella's kitchen is headed by Executive Chef/Owner, Marc Swierkowski, chef Mark changes the menu with the season's so he can use the freshest ingredients available from local New England farms and waters. The chef started his fall menu with entree's including Duck Breast, Fig & Walnut Stuffed All Natural Pork Tenderloin, Grilled Black Angus N.Y. Sirloin, Pineland Farms Braised Beef Cheeks, among others including Pan Seared Sea Scallops, Celery Root Mashed, Golden Raisin & Apple Compote, Celery Leaf & Apple Salad, the latter which I chose.

Before I talk about my dinner let me tell you about my starter course, a bowl of Kale Soup that was unlike any that I have had before! Chef Mark was offering this as a special the night we were there, the soup was freshly made with the kale perfectly tender and flavorful sausage and seasoned to perfection! For my meal I went with the Scallops, now I've had scallops at many restaurants but none can even come close to what I was about to eat. The blend of perfectly cooked scallops, celery root, compote and apple along with the sauce was like nothing I've ever tasted! This has to be the best meal I ever ate!

My wife Donna agreed, she had the scallops as well, she is someone that usually eats half her meal and brings home the other, not this night, she ate every last bite! My friend Bob had the duck that he loved and his better half Barbara had the steak that she was very pleased with!

After the delicous meal what could you do to top it off? How about having the most delicous dessert! We all opted for the Sticky Pudding Cake with Sea Salt Caramel Sauce. The pudding cake comes in a mason jar with a scoop of home-made ice cream and the caramel sauce on the side, upon pouring the sauce into the mason jar over the cake you get an amazing blend of flavors that will have spoons fighting for every last bite!

Chef Marc and Ella's has something for everyone as well offering a large selection of wood oven pizzas available with a variety of toppings.

I highly recomend a visit to Ella's Wood Burning Oven Restaurant, Ella's is open for dinner beginning at 5:00 daily and are closed on Tuesday's.
