City Council Still Wants Brighter Lighting
The installation of New Bedford's new LED lighting system, the City Council believes some areas have been left in the dark.
Councilor Dana Rebeiro requested the Department of Public Infrastructure answer questions about their plans for troubled areas.
During Tuesday evening's meeting, the Ward Four councilor says the main concern is keeping residents safe.
The Council is disappointed that the DPI has not followed through with providing brighter lighting in areas with crime issues.
The DPI has cited higher costs for brighter lighting as a reason for not adjusting the lights.
