BROCKTON — State and Brockton police are investigating a fatal shooting Wednesday night that killed a 26-year-old man in Brockton's second homicide that day.

The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office said the man — who is not being identified — was shot to death at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Just hours before, a woman was stabbed to death in her driveway on Crescent Street in Brockton — with her suspected attacker also later dying at the hospital after reportedly ingesting battery acid.

First responders were called to 19 West Park St. for the reported shooting just after 7:30 on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

They arrived to find the male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his right shoulder, according to the D.A.'s office.

He was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital and then medflighted to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 12:06 a.m. Thursday.

The D.A.'s office did not say why the man is not being identified.

State and Brockton police are actively investigating the shooting as a homicide, an office spokesperson confirmed.
