Bridgewater State University will be loooking for a new president. Current president Dr. Dana Mohler-Faria is reportedly stepping down at the end of the 2014-15 academic year. Mohler-Faria, who is an Onset native, has also served as the chairman of the superintendent search committee for the New Bedford public schools. He said he was announcing his intention to retire now to give the Univsersity trustees ample time to choose a successor and ensure a smooth transition.

The trustees will begin a search for a new president this spring and hope to have a successor named by december 2014.
