Dear Mom In Van,

I was in the Jeep driving behind you the other night as we left the baseball field. I could hear the noise coming from your van and I could hear you start yelling. Now, I understand. I've been there before when the kids start acting up at the end of the day and you're at the end of your rope.

As we turned onto the street coming out of the parking lot I heard the kids yelling and I must admit, when I saw you pull over to the side of the road and get out of your car, I was a little concerned. I didn't know what I was about to witness and I wasn't sure what I should do. Should I get out of the car and tell you to calm down? Is it really any of my business? Should I call the cops? Once I saw what you did, I gained a whole new respect for you.

I didn't notice when the child in the back threw the plastic cup out the window. But I thought it was great that you pulled over, walked around the van, opened the slider and told him/her to "pick that up. I'm not moving this car until you pick that up."

We need more parents like you. I hope you had a great weekend.
