Yarmouth Man Sentenced for Home Invasion and Kidnapping Charges
BARNSTABLE (WBSM) — A Yarmouth man pleaded guilty in Barnstable Superior Court on Thursday for assaulting two minor victims.
Jonathon Fleishmann, 36, faces a total of six charges after pleading guilty to home invasion, firearm armed kidnapping, firearm armed assault in a dwelling, assault to rape, assault with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery.
The Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office said that on February 6, 2020, one of the victims was walking home from school with her boyfriend in Yarmouth. She arrived home to find a man, later identified as Fleischmann, who claimed to be from the electric company.
As she opened her garage door and walked inside, Fleischman, who was allegedly wearing a ski mask on top of his head, came into the garage behind her and pulled out a gun.
It’s alleged that Fleischmann told the victim to get in the house and grabbed her by the arm when she tried to run out of the garage.
The second victim allegedly fled toward the scene after hearing screaming from the garage, which, during that time, Fleischmann also fled onto the street.
As he was being chased, Fleischman allegedly pointed a gun back towards the victim.
Police obtained house surveillance footage that matched Fleischmann’s description during the encounter. Fleischmann was identified in a photo array on March 10, 2020.
Fleischmann was sentenced in the Barnstable Superior Court to 12 to 15 years in State Prison.
Charges stemmed from an investigation conducted by the Yarmouth Police Department.
