Woman Arrested for Shoplifting at Wareham Stop & Shop
WAREHAM — On Sunday, October 22nd at approximately 7:30 pm, Wareham Police patrol officers responded to Stop & Shop regarding a reported female shoplifter in the store. Upon arrival at the store, Det. Dean Decas noticed the female running outside the store, then back into the store, where she was apprehended with the assistance of Stop & Shop Loss Prevention personnel.
Investigation of the incident showed 36-year-old Kelly McGanty of Plymouth attempted to conceal, or did in fact conceal approximately $334 worth of merchandise. She was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting over $100.
In addition to the criminal charge, McGanty was found to have four outstanding warrants issued by Plymouth District Court related to charges involving past larceny incidents.
