Westport’s Head Town Landing Country Store Welcomes New Owner
One of Westport's beloved businesses has officially turned a new chapter.
The Head Town Landing Country Store, a small-town staple known for its old-fashioned donuts, riverside views and sense of community, has officially welcomed new ownership. Stepping into the role is Andrea Biszko of Fall River, who brings both nostalgia and fresh ideas to the historic shop.
Not to worry, those delicious donuts are here to stay.
Local Roots, Familiar Memories
Biszko isn’t a stranger to Westport. Growing up, her family spent summers in town, and she often visited the store with her brother. Like many who have walked through its doors, her childhood favorites were simple joys: the candy bins and the legendary donuts.
When Westport's Butler’s Donuts closed, it was well-known around town to head to the Town Landing if you wanted that same old-fashioned style.
“Donuts were always the best part,” she said with a smile. "I love that I get to carry that tradition forward.”

A Blend of Tradition and New Ideas
While customers can rest easy knowing the donuts, pastries, ice cream and candy aren’t going anywhere, Biszko is excited to make subtle changes. Her vision includes cutting back on mass-produced “convenience store” items in favor of locally-made goods like soaps, oils and other community products.
“I want to keep what people love but also bring in more local touches,” she said. “It’s about creating a space that feels even more connected to the community.”

Ice cream lovers will be happy to know the store continues to scoop Bliss year-round, with 30-plus flavors in summer and 10 to 15 rotating options in the off-season.
Plans for the Future
Beyond the shelves, Biszko hopes to host small outdoor community events with the town's approval, such as a family-friendly movie night on the store’s grassy riverside area. With kayaking, river views and a built-in gathering spot, she sees plenty of potential for new traditions.
“I love doing things for kids,” she said. “It’s not just about running a store, it’s about making memories here.”
Carrying on the Spirit
Biszko inherits the shop from Kathy and Rory Couturier, who ran it like a well-oiled machine for 17 years. In her introductory post to the community on the Town Landing's Facebook page, she thanked them for their hard work and the foundation they built. She also shared that the journey is one she’ll get to share with her 11-year-old son, Jayden.
“This store isn’t just my new adventure,” she wrote. “It’s something special I get to share with my son. Together, we’re so excited to be part of this community and to grow with all of you.”
Her message to longtime customers: don’t worry, the heart of the Country Store isn’t changing. The donuts, pastries, ice cream and cozy coffee conversations will remain, with the bonus of new locally made items coming soon.
As for new visitors?
“Come give us a shot,” Biszko said. “We’d love to meet you.”
