Warren and Markey Are Politicizing Your Misery [OPINION]

Gee, what a shock to read on Wednesday that the Bay State's reluctant Senator Elizabeth Warren and her trusty sidekick Mr. Frosty (otherwise known as Sen. Ed Markey) are leading the charge in calling for a partisan investigation into the Trump Administration's response to the COVID-19 crisis.

Warren and nine of her best liberal malcontents in the U.S. Senate, including Sheldon "Did You Boof?" Whitehouse of Rhode Island, Richard "Stolen Valor" Blumenthal and failed presidential wannabes Kamela Harris, and Kirsten Gillibrand are demanding a probe into Trump's handling of all of this.

The coronavirus has crippled our economy, killed our citizens, and resulted in one of the greatest government overreaches in the history of our country. Damn straight there should be an investigation. But that investigation should not begin until after the crisis has passed and should be thorough. Anything short of that is simply political posturing during an election year.

There should be an investigation that looks into how the greatest power in the history on the planet could have become so dependent on China for so many of the things that sustain our existence, including medicines and healthcare supplies. The investigation also needs to examine the origins of this virus and how China, apparently aided by the World Health Organization, was able to lie to conceal the seriousness of this outbreak from the rest of the world.

Any investigation should also include a look at how the Democrat Party resisted the administration's efforts to restrict travel to the U.S. by outsiders that could spread the virus here. They called Trump a xenophobe and a racist, remember? They filed legislation to prevent Trump from restricting flights from potentially dangerous locations.

Why did those same Democrats as recently as March tell people that public gatherings and public transportation were safe? Why were their committees focused on impeaching the president rather than conducting hearings on the threat posed by COVID-19? Why did they block financial assistance to Americans while demanding relief aid for illegal aliens?

Oh yes, there needs to be an investigation and I cannot wait for it to begin. But it has to wait until all of this has subsided and we are back to some sense of normalcy.
