Wareham Police Investigate Shooting

Wareham Police are investigating after a man was shot at Monday night.

Chief Kevin Walsh says that at around 7 p.m. officers responded to 88 Martin St. for a report of shots being fired.

An initial investigation has concluded that a male with a small caliber handgun fired two shots at another man who ran into the house as the shooter fled the scene.

Walsh says this isn't believed to be a random shooting as an investigation showed that the suspect came to the home to speak with someone there.

The incident remains under investigation and police say those involved in the incident aren't being named at this time.
