Wareham Dirt Bike Rider Struck by Car Now Facing Multiple Charges
WAREHAM — The man who driving a dirt bike that crashed head-on into a vehicle on Glen Charlie Road last week is now facing criminal charges.
On Tuesday, June 21 at about 3:35 p.m., Wareham Police responded to reports of a motorcycle crash on Glen Charlie Road. Wareham Police Officer Michael Phinney arrived and observed an injured 27-year-old East Wareham man being treated by an off-duty firefighter paramedic. It appeared that the man had been operating a dirt bike and collided head-on with a vehicle traveling north on Glen Charlie Road.
Officers Hannah Salerno and Jennifer Braley investigated the crash, and now the operator of the dirtbike is being summoned to court by Officer Salerno on multiple charges.
Nicholas Cranmer, 27, of East Wareham is charged with: negligent operation of a motor vehicle so as to endanger; failure to stay in marked lanes; operation after suspension of a driver’s license; and possession of a Class A drug, after officers at the scene located suspect fentanyl in a backpack belonging to Cranmer.
