The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Wareham Is Closing

WAREHAM — It's a sad day for bargain hunters as the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Wareham's Cranberry Highway announced it is set to close at the end of the month.

In a post on the Wareham location's Facebook page, it was announced that Saturday, June 29 would be the final day for the store to be open. Until that point, everything in the store will be 50 percent off.

The Salvation Army opened in the former Fonzie's Diner back in 2007, combining the previous thrift stores that were located in Bourne and Mattapoisett. The Salvation Army purchased the 22,000-square foot building for $2.25 million.

The New Bedford location closed not long after, and with Wareham shuttering its doors, that leaves the Swansea and Raynham locations as the closest Salvation Army Thrift Stores to the New Bedford area.
