
Child Killed, Mother and Sister Injured in Taunton Crash
TAUNTON (WBSM) — A young child was killed in a motor vehicle crash in Taunton Saturday night.
Crash Happened on Broadway in Taunton
According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III, 911 calls came in at about 7:10 p.m. on October 18 reporting a motor vehicle collision in front of 400 Broadway (Route 138). First responders arrived to find a head-on collision had occurred between a white Chevy van and a blue Toyota RAV4.
The D.A.’s Office said it appeared that the RAV4 crashed into the van, resulting in heavy damage to both vehicles. Four men were in the van and remained on the scene, none appearing to be injured.

Family Involved in Crash
The RAV4 was driven by a 25-year-old mother with her two children in the vehicle. The mother was taken to Rhode Island Hospital and was reportedly in stable condition. A five-year-old girl was taken to an out-of-state trauma center and was also in stable condition. A girl who was almost two years old was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased a short time later.
None of their identities were released by the D.A.’s Office, and no further information was provided.
Police and State Detectives Continue Investigation
The investigation is ongoing by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney's Office along with Taunton Police.
