BROCKTON (WBSM) — A Taunton man and his brother were both indicted today in Plymouth Superior Court in connection with a murder in Abington back in December.
According to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz, Antonio Lopes, 37, of Taunton and his brother Suzito Lopes, 43, of Quincy were both indicted today on one count each of murder. In addition, Antonio Lopes is charged with one count of unlicensed possession of a firearm.
Both men pleaded not guilty and were held without bail.

The charges date back to December 27, 2024, when Abington Police received a call at about 7:25 p.m. requesting a well-being check on the caller’s male relative living at 563 Plymouth Street.
Police arrived to find the man unresponsive in the backyard of the residence. He was later identified as Anthoney Leverone, 43. At the time, the D.A.’s Office said he had sustained blunt force trauma and “high impact” injuries leading to his death.
