SWANSEA (WBSM) — Swansea Mall Drive is slowly becoming revived, and now Bay State Veterinary Hospital has reopened its doors to its new facility there.

The hospital announced the news recently and said it is excited for its patients and guests to experience everything the new building will offer.

Located at 243 Swansea Mall Drive, the new state-of-the-art building will offer more services, providing your animals with the best care they deserve.

Bay State Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Services is credited for providing excellent emergency care, internal medical, and surgery services.

Due to temporary limitations from the move, the hospital will only accept limited cases, including pets with non-life-threatening health concerns. Calling beforehand is requested.

A full-capacity opening is expected in the near future.

On its website, Bay State Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Services highlighted services that will be provided at the new premiere facility.

Here's what you can expect at the new hospital on Swansea Mall Drive.

  • They have expanded the emergency and ICU footprint
  • Brand new x-ray machine
  • Brand new ultrasound
  • Adding capability for CT
  • Increased imaging capabilities in addition to their radiology
  • Radiology and multiple diagnostic quality ultrasound units
  • The future home of their linear accelerator
  • They are expanding their surgery team, and they will have three operating rooms
  • Dedicated isolation suites for both respiratory and GI infectious diseases
  • Expanded in-house laboratory capabilities
  • Additional dedicated oxygen cages and high-flow oxygen support

Meet the Animals of Dartmouth's Don't Forget Us, Pet Us Sanctuary

Just off Faunce Corner Road in Dartmouth is an animal sanctuary for livestock that has become home to over 50 animals is just five short years. Whether they arrived because their owners could no longer care for them or they were removed from an abusive situation, Deborah Devlin and Jill Tagino, who run Don't Forget Us, Pet Us sanctuary, take in animals with no where else to go. Clearly, the livestock they care for are very happy to have found a home for the rest of their natural lives.
