Swan Boats Return to Buttonwood Park in New Bedford
The swan boats launched at Buttonwood Park for the first time in April of 2018.
Looks like spring is officially here because we've seen the Swan Boat signs go up around the park for the first time this week! The swans launched on Sunday, March 24 for the start of the new season.
New Bedford Parks, Recreation & Beaches and the City of New Bedford invite the public to take a ride on one of the six swan boats that fit up to four (depending on size) and pedal very easily.
They are currently running weekends from 10:30 am to 6 pm, (weather permitting) and will begin operating daily for April school vacation week beginning April 15 through Labor Day, September 2. They will then operate weekends through September.
The cost is $5 per child (ages 2-15) and $10 per adult, with a portion of the fees going toward improving and maintaining open water habitat, maintaining water quality and providing safe recreational access to the pond.
If you didn't get a chance to go for a ride last year and would like to take some friends out on the pond this year, see below for coupons made for groups, that can be presented either in print or on your phone!
