Students at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School were dismissed early on Wednesday due to a “possible threat.”

Superintendent Carol Woodbury told the Cape Cod Times that the threat was investigated and officials, including those from Yarmouth Police and the Yarmouth Fire Department, determined it was not credible.

Woodbury said the students were released about a half hour early “out of an abundance of caution,” but she didn't provide any specific information regarding the nature of the threat.

Officials say that classes are scheduled to start at their normal time on Thursday morning.
