The Fairhaven Board of Selectman was supposed to set the date for a new Board of Health election Monday night, but it didn't happen.

Board Chairman Charles Murphy said the Board had yet to receive the official paperwork from Superior Court Judge Robert Kane, throwing out the results of the April 1st election because of descrepancies in the handling of the ballots.

Murphy then set July 1st, next Monday, as the date for a special meeting to discuss the new election.

Attorney Ann Denardis, who represents challenger John Wethington, accepted the delay........

Incumbant Peter De Terra attended the meeting but made no comment.  Another group however did make itself heard.

Dan Freitas spoke on behalf of "Friends of Fairhaven Wind."  He asked the Board to consider holding an entirely new election for all offices in town.

The Board took the matter under advisement and said they would discuss it with Town Counsel Thomas Crotty.

Chairman Murphy says its likely any election won't happen till September, and its his understanding that other candidates can run as well.
