Dartmouth Voters Keep Town Clerk’s Job an Elected Position
Here are election results from the Town of Dartmouth.
The incumbent Town Clerk easily won re-election in unofficial results reported Tuesday night on the Dartmouth Community Media website.
Town Clerk Sarah Haskell Arruda piled up more than 1,200 votes and easily defeated challenger Kelsi Power-Spirlet by nearly a four to one margin.
Voters also shot down an amendment to the Town Charter that would have made the Town Clerk's job an appointed rather than an elected position.
Voters decided to keep the post an elected position by a vote of 893-to-551.
In other races, Christian Pope won a seat on the Dartmouth Board of Health, defeating Darci Moran. And Kevin Estes won a 5-year seat on the Planning Board, besting Jane Pansire.
