State Rep. Says He Was Assaulted, Police To Seek Complaint

Dartmouth Police Chief Timothy Lee says his department will seek a court complaint against a man who allegedly assaulted State Rep. Chris Markey over the weekend.

Chief Lee tells WBSM News, Markey filed a report on Monday, claiming he was assaulted Saturday outside the Cushman School by a man identified as David Oliveira.

Markey confirmed he spent some time in the hospital because of injuries suffered in the incident. He declined further comment, saying the Dartmouth Police were handling the matter.
