For the past 20 years, the State Police Dartmouth barracks has celebrated Christmas with a get together that assists children in the area. On Thursday, December 17, their tradition of collecting toys continues for local children and their families and distributed through the New Bedford, Wareham and Fall River Boys and Girls Club and the Child and Family Services of Greater New Bedford. The event is coordinated by Lt. Jose Gonsalves (retired), Lt. Michael Michno, D-3 Station Commander, Sgt. Joseph Mitchell (retired) and Sgt. George Souza (retired).

Delicious food will be served but contributions of desserts would be appreciated. Drop by between 12:30 - 3:30 pm on December 17 with a new, unwrapped toy. This year, there has been an increase in requests. There will also be a silent auction. Swing by and have a great time while doing a lot of good!
