School Committee Race Highlights Dartmouth Ballot

The School Committee race in Dartmouth appears to be the big race in town this spring. 

Candidates had till Tuesday at 5pm to turn in their papers at the Town Clerk's Office.  There are four candidates running for two seats on the School board.  The field includes incumbant Jonathan Schwartz, newcomer Chris Garth, retired Dartmouth educator Carol Karafotis, and UMass-Dartmouth professor Shannon Jenkins.  Incumbant Robert Oliveira is not seeking re-election. 

There is also a contested race for the Dartmouth Select Board.  Incumbant William Trimble has decided not to seek re-election, but two candidates are seeking the office; Planning Board member Stanley Mickelson and David Faria. 

Election day in Dartmouth is April 1st.
