Santas’ Race For A Good Cause In New Bedford

Two time Boston Marathon champ Geoff Smith of Mattapoisett is looking to set a new record of sorts.  Smith now organizes the Santa Sightings 5k Fun Run in Downtown New Bedford.  On Saturday, more than 1,600 runners and walkers, all wearing Santa suits,  made their way thru the Downtown area, raising money for the Southcoast Health System's Cardiac Prevention programs.  Smith would like to see  the number of participants increased ten-fold....

Among the runners on Saturday was New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell, and employees from the Southcoast Cardiac Prevention programs.
