Red Sox Take High School 3B With 26th Pick In MLB Draft
The Boston Red Sox had to wait until the 26th pick in the 2018 MLB Draft to make their first selection.
When it was their turn to select a player, they turned to the high school ranks, selecting third baseman Triston Casas out of American Heritage School in Florida.
The corner infielder is a decorated member of the Team USA U-18 team and is considered to be one of the top power hitting high school prospects in this year's draft.
At 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, most people project him to slide across the diamond to first base during his professional career.
