Put Windex On It
In the comedy hit, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, the father, Gus Portokalos, said, "Give me a word, any word, and I show you that the root of that word is Greek!" He's right! Roast Lamb comes from the Greek meaning tender and delicious, Spanakopita means homemade spinach pie and moussaka means tasty eggplant casserole! Yes, the Greeks have a word for it all, from authentic meals, pastry, wine and beer to hand made baklava, the St. George Greek Food Festival has something for everyone to love!
This weekend, Friday, Sept. 15 from 5 to 10 pm, Saturday, Sept. 16 from 11 am to 10 pm and Sunday, Sept. 17 from 11 am to 5 pm, the grounds around St. George Greek Orthodox Church at 186 Cross Rd. in Dartmouth, MA will be transformed into Dancing Zorba's, as in the movie!
From Greek music and performances by the Greek Pride Rhode Island Dance Troupe, to Greek wine and beer, come by for warm Greek hospitality and hot Greek specialties right off the grill!
