“Officers who spoke to the driver of the Honda Accord reported an odor of alcohol emanating from him,” Walsh said. “Field sobriety tests were unable to be administered due to the injuries from the crash.”

The driver of the Accord and the driver of the Camry were both transpired to Rhode Island Hospital by ambulance.

Police have only identified the driver of the Accord as a 38-year-old Providence man. Walsh said he will be summoned to court and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation.
