Republican Tim Cruz has been re-elected as Plymouth County District Attorney.

Cruz, who went into election day as the only Republican district attorney in Massachusetts, has held the office since 2001.

Although only about 80 percent of the vote has been reported so far, the Patriot Ledger called the election for Cruz, citing Cruz’s 65.2 percent of the vote, with 112,605 votes compared to Hall’s 59,986.

Hall, a progressive Democrat who worked as the director of the racial justice program for the ACLU of Massachusetts and as an Assistant District Attorney for Suffolk County, drew headlines during the race for celebrity endorsements such as those from U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley and singer John Legend.
