Petition To Ask Retailers To Save Thanksgiving

A friend of mine was lamenting her late mother "always had to work Thanksgiving night." She said, "Not only was this very hard on my mother, but on all of us as a family." It used to be that holidays were meant to be spent with the family, not trying to make more and more money! On the other hand, my neighbor reminded me that, " given the economy, people should be thankful they have a job!"

Thankful to have a job to work on Thanksgiving extends a new twist to the word gratitude, for sure! There are petitions calling on retailers to 'Save Thanksgiving.'
