SouthCoast Thanksgiving Dishes Go Next-Level With These Local Creations
I look forward to Thanksgiving every single year.
It’s one of my absolute favorite holidays because it revolves around the three F’s of life: family, friends, and food. Let’s be honest, it's mostly food.
Sure, you can find Thanksgiving-topped pizzas all over the place this time of year (and yes, I’ve had more than I care to admit), but this season I wanted to highlight the more unique, more unorthodox, more “wait… they did WHAT?” turkey creations happening right here on the SouthCoast.
These aren’t just meals, these are full-blown gobble-worthy masterpieces.
New York Bagel Co. (Dartmouth & Fall River): The Thanksgiving Bagel
Thanksgiving you can hold with one hand – if you’re brave.
If Thanksgiving dinner and an everything bagel had a baby, it would be this absolute unit at New York Bagel Co.
Picture this: thick-cut turkey, buttery stuffing, tangy cranberry sauce, and warm gravy all piled high and sandwiched between a perfectly toasted everything bagel that can barely contain the chaos.
It’s messy, it’s glorious, and it’s the kind of sandwich that requires napkins on standby and possibly a change of shirt afterward. Honestly? Worth it.

You can grab it at both locations, 1572 President Ave in Fall River and 272 State Road in Dartmouth, if you want Thanksgiving for breakfast, lunch, a snack, or an emotional support meal.
New Beige (New Bedford): Thanksgiving Empanadas
Thanksgiving, but make it portable.
New Beige on Union Street took the classic holiday plate and said, “Cool. What if we folded all of that into an empanada and baked it like edible therapy?”
These Thanksgiving Empanadas are stuffed with turkey, stuffing, cranberry, and all the fixings, giving you the full holiday experience in a flaky handheld pocket. It’s like a little pastry hug filled with gratitude and gravy dreams.

The best part: you don’t need a fork, a knife, or an elastic-waistband pair of pants. Just grab, bite, smile, repeat.
County Fair Hot Dogs (Somerset): Gobble Gobble Fries
The Thanksgiving plate you can eat with fries instead of judgment.
County Fair Hot Dogs said, “Forget the plate, let’s build Thanksgiving on fries,” and honestly, I respect that on a spiritual level.
Its "Gobble Gobble Fries" come with golden fries loaded with warm turkey, savory gravy, crunchy stuffing bits, and a zesty cranberry drizzle on top. It’s sweet, salty, crunchy, warm. Basically everything your taste buds want to do on Thanksgiving, but in the form of a fry mountain.

If Thanksgiving dinner had a wild, chaotic cousin who shows up to the party wearing a fun sweater and causing good trouble, this dish would be it.
A SouthCoast Thanksgiving, But Make It Fun
These three spots took the traditional turkey-and-fixings lineup and turned it into something playful, unexpected, and ridiculously delicious.
Whether you're in the mood for a gravity-defying bagel, a flaky turkey pocket, or a fry pile that should honestly be illegal (it's that good), these SouthCoast restaurants have you covered this Thanksgiving season.
Eat happy, friends. May the gravy always be warm and the cranberry always be zesty.
