As if the progressive, liberals don't control enough of the news media, "moonbat" Mayor Bill de Blasio is proposing using taxpayers money to fund a government controlled media outlet for New York City.

Medium.com says de Blasio endorsed the concept during a closed-door meeting with reporters laid off by local New York news sites DNAinfo and Gothamist.

“I think it’s a really good question and one that intrigues me and one that I’d be open in seeing the city invest in."

“Publicly sponsored, with appropriate grounds.”

“The BBC model, not always perfect, but in the best sense — there’s definitely a place for that.”

De Blasio says a publically owned press operation would be more "fair and responsive" and "create more balance" than those owned by "a bunch of rich individuals from multinational corporations."

Is De Blasio siding with President Trump in suggesting that the so-called "Main Street Media" is pumping out too much "Fake News?"  I suspect the Mayor's interests are self-interests and he is simply looking to control the message to suit his leftist agenda, like any good socialist would want to do.

John Kerry's "Fairness Doctrine" and Barrack Obama's "Net Neutrality" are just a couple of ways the left has tried to control the message and both were miserable failures.  I suggest that comrade De Blasio's crack at a city-owned propaganda machine would be a dismal failure as well.

Should the government be in the news business?  NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio thinks so. What do you think?
