Alexander Mills, the 18 year old male charged with murder in the killing of cab driver and former Veterans Agent Donald DePina, is headed to Bridgewater State Hospital.

Greg Miliote with the District Attorney's office says Mills is being held without bail and Judge Cynthia Bracket ordered Mills to undergo a mental health evaluation at Bridgewater State Hospital. He's due back in court January 4th.

A 16 year old male juvenile also charged in connection with the case, appeared in Juvenile Court. Results of that hearing will not be made public, but Milote says the juvenile is being held.

Prosecutors said in court on Tuesday the suspects were passengers in the cab driven by the 66-year old DePina Saturday night, Assistant D-A Pat Bomberg says it was Mills who shot DePina from behind, then pulled him from the cab and shot him two more times.

DePina was a Vietnam Veteran and former Veterans Agent for the City of New Bedford, serving in that position from 1999 to 2002.
