Middleboro Family Recognized for Major Invention
Rebecca is a two-year-old little girl living in Middleboro, MA. Her parents, Beth and Jacob Lacourse, are being recognized for their invention, 'The BecDot.'
Becca has Usher's Syndrome. She was born deaf, and will eventually lose her sight. Beth and Jacob searched for a toy that would be suitable for Becca to engage in play as a stepping stone to learning braille. Unfortunately, they weren't satisfied with the quality of products available. Jacob knew he could develop something himself, even better than what was already out there. Thus, The BecDot came to life.
Not Impossible is honoring them as advocates for their daughter and for one day helping others just like Rebecca to have hopeful futures. "Rebecca's parents refuse to accept that her disability must hold her back from a childhood full of learning. This is the story of their invention, BecDot, winner of the #LimitlessAward for its ability to break through barriers. #NotImpossibleAwards"
