East Bridgewater Teen Killed in Middleboro Crash
MIDDLEBORO (WBSM) — An 18-year-old from East Bridgewater died Sunday as a result of injuries suffered in a single-vehicle crash in Middleboro.
According to Middleboro Police Chief Robert Ferreira and Fire Chief Owen Thompson, both departments responded at about 2:37 a.m. on April 6 to reports of a serious single-car crash on Marion Road.
First responders arrived to find that the vehicle apparently crashed into a tree and the driver was trapped inside. His passenger had been removed by bystanders before first responders were at the scene.
Hydraulic cutting tools were used to get the driver, an 18-year-old East Bridgewater man, out of the vehicle. He was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced deceased. His identity has not yet been released.

The chiefs said the passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Middleboro Police and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
