Man Arrested After Trying to Fight Off Wareham Police

WAREHAM — A Buzzards Bay man is arrested after he tries to fight off police officers at a local bar.

Thursday night at about 11 p.m., Wareham Police responded to Captain Al's Tiki Bar on Cranberry Highway for the report of a large fight.

Upon arrival, Officer James White attempted to place a male under arrest; however, the male refused to cooperate. After being brought to the ground, the male tried to grab Officer White's legs several times in an attempt to knock him over. Officer Michael Phinney and Bourne Police Officer Krystal Harrington arrived to assist, scuffled with the male, and finally utilized a Taser to subdue him.

David Hanoian, 49, of Buzzards Bay is charged with, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and resisting arrest.
