Lawrence Kidnap Suspect Arrested

A Massachusetts woman wanted in connection with a gunpoint kidnapping last week has been apprehended in Baltimore.

The Bristol district attorney's office says 28-year-old Stephanie Walker of Lawrence was located at a Baltimore motel Saturday.

She is charged in Maryland with being a fugitive from justice, and is wanted in Massachusetts on warrants charging her with kidnapping and assault and battery. It's unclear when she will return to Massachusetts and it was not known if she has a lawyer.

A second suspect, 28-year-old Adynew Alves, of Boston, remains at large.

Authorities say the suspects kidnapped a 49-year-old woman at gunpoint last Tuesday, threw her in the trunk of a car and drive her south on Route 24 until she escaped in Taunton.

Police did not disclose a possible motive.
