
Man Arrested After Alleged Stabbing Threat at New Bedford Market Basket
NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — A man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a reported stabbing incident at the New Bedford Market Basket.
New Bedford Police confirmed to WBSM that units responded just before 4:30 p.m. on May 12 to Market Basket on Sawyer Street for a report of a suspected stabbing.
Officers arrived to find a man identified as Jayce Pastrana, 37, had allegedly threatened to stab another individual. Police said the two people did know one another and that no injuries were reported.

Pastrana was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
A Jayce Pastrana who is the same age also has multiple arrests listed in online searches, including a 2011 assault and battery charge in Taunton, and a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in Fall River in 2019.
