Lakeville Man Indicted in Alleged Drunken Fatal Crash
BROCKTON (WBSM) — A Lakeville man has been indicted on charges of second-degree murder and vehicular manslaughter, among other offenses, in the allegedly drunken 2024 fatal crash that claimed the life of 75-year-old Richard Reed.

Richard Reed, 75, of Lakeville was a passenger in the Camry and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Camry was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Audi was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford for medical treatment, while the driver of the Chevrolet was treated at the scene.
DeLorenzo, who was the driver of the Santa Fe, was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton following the crash. The D.A.’s Office said his blood was drawn at the hospital and indicated his blood alcohol content was “well over the legal limit.”
He was criminally charged by Lakeville Police and arraigned in Wareham District Court, where he was held on $1,000 bail with conditions that he wear a GPS monitoring bracelet, abide to a curfew, remain alcohol-free with testing three times per day, and not drive during the pendency of the case.
DeLorenzo’s will be arraigned in Superior Court at a later date, the D.A.’s Office said.
