Lakeville Sex Offender Faces Federal Charges After Massive Drug Seizure

BOSTON (WBSM) — A registered sex offender living in a Lakeville office building who also served time for drug and gun offenses now faces federal drug trafficking charges following his most recent arrest.

U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley announced that Christopher DiRusso, 55, was charged by criminal complaint in federal court in Boston with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine and 500 grams or more of cocaine.

Federal Charges Following Lakeville Search

The charges stem from an August 5 search of a commercial building in Lakeville where DiRusso was apparently living inside an office suite. Charging documents allege that cocaine and drug packaging materials were found in plain view. It is also alleged that investigators found in a closet thousands of counterfeit methamphetamine pills designed to resemble Adderall, along with over 2,000 grams of cocaine, some of which was packaged into a kilogram brick.

Prior Criminal Record and Registration Details

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said DiRusso was previously convicted in state court of cocaine trafficking and firearm offenses in 2007, for which he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. In 2001, he was convicted in state court of indecent assault and battery on a child and was sentenced to three years in prison.

During the August 5 search, investigators allegedly found a copy of DiRusso’s Massachusetts sex offender registration from July 2026, in which he registered as homeless and listed the commercial building as his secondary and work address.

Potential Penalties and Legal Consequences

If convicted, the charges of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine and 500 grams or more of cocaine each provide for a sentence of not less than 10 years and up to life in prison, at least five years of supervised release and a fine of up to $10 million.
