Jets Lose Quarterback And Linebacker To Locker Room Brawl
The altercation in the Jets locker room that left quarterback Geno Smith with a fractured jaw, began with a dispute over 600-hundred-dollars.
Multiple reports say now former Jets linebacker I.K. Enkempali hit Smith over cash that was used to purchase a plane ticket for the quarterback, but was never used.
Enkempali invited the signal-caller to his football camp in Pflugerville, Texas, but Smith no-showed to the event.
Someone close to the third-year QB died just before the camp date in a motorcycle accident.
Enkempali demanded that the Jets quarterback refund him the money. Enkempali confronted Smith on Tuesday about the cash and the confrontation ended in a punch and broken jaw.
Smith is out six-to-10 weeks after surgery, and Enkempali has been released. (Metro Network Inc.)
